King of Checkers is operated by DanCueDigital LLC, CueArcade Protected Series, Orlando, Florida. By playing, you agree to what's below.

The game

The free tier gives you American checkers and El Rey Efrain under official rules, the Warm-Up and Contender difficulties, the leaderboard, and versus play. The full unlock is a one-time $4.99 purchase adding all eight rule styles, House Rules editing and saved rulesets, and the Master, Grandmaster and Unstoppable difficulties. It is not a subscription and does not recur.

An unlock bought on this website applies to your King of Checkers account. An unlock bought inside the iOS or Android app is tied to the store account that bought it, under Apple's or Google's terms. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

Your account

An account is optional. If you make one, keep your password to yourself - you're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at support@kingofcheckers.com if you think someone else is using it.

Fair play and the leaderboard

The leaderboard only means something if it's honest. Don't tamper with the game or its network traffic to post results you didn't earn, don't automate play to farm points, and don't run scripts against our servers. We remove fabricated results and the accounts that produce them.

Pick a display name you'd be comfortable seeing on a public board. We reserve the right to remove names that are abusive, hateful, impersonating, or obviously designed to cause trouble.

What you may not do

• Resell, relicense, or redistribute the game or the unlock
• Reverse-engineer the game to bypass paid features
• Attack, overload, or probe the servers
• Use the game to break the law
• Abuse, harass, threaten or send hateful or sexual messages to another player
• Impersonate someone else, in your name, your motto or at a table

User content and moderation

Playing a rival online means you can send that person messages at the table, and you choose a name, and champions may submit a motto and a portrait. All of that is your content, and you are responsible for it. You keep whatever rights you had in it, and you give us permission to show it to the people it is meant for and to keep a copy for moderation.

There is no tolerance for abuse, hate, harassment, threats, sexual content, or anything unlawful at a table. Table talk is filtered on our server before it is posted: a slur is refused and never reaches the other player, and ordinary swearing is masked. Mottos and portraits are reviewed by a person before anyone else sees them, and are only published once approved.

At any table you can report the other player or block them, from the table talk sheet. A report reaches us with a copy of what was said, and we read every one. Blocking ends that table at once and stops either of you challenging the other again.

We act on reports within a day where we can. Depending on what happened we may remove the content, end the account's ability to play rivals, or remove the account entirely. Serious matters are referred to the authorities. You can also write to support@kingofcheckers.com, and the support page explains what to send.

What we own

The game, its code, artwork, sound, characters, El Rey Efrain included, and the King of Checkers name belong to DanCueDigital LLC. Buying the unlock buys you the right to play it, not to own it. The rules of checkers and draughts themselves belong to everyone, as they should.

Availability

We run this ourselves and we intend to keep it up, but we don't promise uninterrupted service. Features may change, and rule styles or modes may be added or removed. If we ever shut the game down for good, we'll say so on this site with as much notice as we can manage.

No warranty

The game is provided "as is." We don't warrant that it will be error-free, that the AI is unbeatable, or that it will suit any particular purpose. Some places don't allow disclaimers like that; where that's true, this one applies only as far as the law permits.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, DanCueDigital LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the game, and our total liability is limited to what you actually paid us - which, for nearly everyone, is either nothing or $4.99.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, and disputes belong to the state or federal courts of Orange County, Florida.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top will change when we do. Continuing to play after a change means you accept it.
